About The Position

This position is responsible for planning and tracking production orders to successfully meet customer demand, maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring the effective management of inventoried materials within a lab production environment. This includes coordinating the receipt and tracking of materials, as well as overseeing inventory control and cycle counting to ensure accuracy. Strong planning skills and attention to detail are essential to support effective order fulfillment, optimize inventory management and drive continuous improvement initiatives. The role requires the ability to work independently and to collaborate closely with other teams.

Requirements

  • High school diploma with 4-6 years of inventory management
  • A bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Operations Management, Manufacturing Planning or similar with 2-4 years of inventory management experience.
  • Proficient in ERP systems and inventory management software.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is required.
  • Ability to pay attention to details and perform at a high level of accuracy while meeting deadlines.
  • Skills in problem solving; including the ability to identify and appropriately evaluate a course of action.
  • Skills in decision-making.
  • Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to improve, learn new concepts and techniques and adapt to change.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Knowledge of inventory system and lot numbering system.
  • Skills in data analysis and math.
  • Ability to be flexible.

Responsibilities

  • Create, monitor and manage open production orders, past due production orders, and past due planned orders using ERP software.
  • Communicate expectations with relevant manufacturing, quality, production, customer care and other relevant partners.
  • Monitor and achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPI), including weekly review of customer backorders.
  • Identify expired items, salvage useable components, and re-work when possible.
  • Support scrap reporting and scrap disposition processes.
  • Post receipts for incoming raw materials and finished products from external suppliers.
  • Create and process ERP transactions and inventory journals related to material movements, adjustments, transfers, and scrap.
  • Create, maintain, and modify inventory locations in both physical storage areas and ERP systems.
  • Monitor inventory accuracy, research and resolve inventory discrepancies through transaction reviews and root cause analysis.
  • Coordinate and perform cycle counts according to established schedules and support annual physical inventory activities.
  • Support inventory audits by maintaining accurate documentation and inventory records.
  • Track and communicate inventory control metrics including cycle count accuracy, inventory adjustments, and location accuracy.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and support implementation of inventory control best practices.
  • Draft and revise SOPs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrated EPIC values in daily work.
