Production Planner - Toolroom
About The Position
The Production Planner plays a key role in ensuring we have the right products, materials, and resources available to meet customer demand. This position develops and manages feasible, long-range production schedules based on customer requirements, capacity, and operational priorities. Working closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Purchasing, and other teams, the Production Planner monitors production plans and material availability to identify potential constraints and keep production moving. This role tracks raw materials, purchased components, and packaging supplies to ensure materials are available when needed and helps balance business needs with production capacity. This is an opportunity to make a direct impact on customer delivery, operational efficiency, inventory management, and overall business performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
- 5+ years of experience in a scheduling, planning, or project management role
- Ability to consistently achieve short and long-term business results
- Ability to follow through on commitments and holds team members accountable
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated experience working with ERP systems
- Microsoft Office proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
Responsibilities
- Plan and manage production schedules in ERP system to meet customer delivery requirements and maximize operational efficiency
- Balance production and inventory levels with demand to support customer service levels, inventory turn goals, and capacity utilization requirements
- Maintain capacity planning
- Analyze sales order releases with respect to capacity planning and material requirements
- Partner with sales and customer service on incoming orders and customer priorities
- Monitor production and shipping performance and pro-actively initiates actions to ensure delivery commitments are fulfilled
- Participate in tier meetings to provide schedule updates to operations, engineering, and quality
- Support and comply with the company Quality System, ISO, and medical device requirements
- Read, understand, and follow work instructions and standard work
- Partner with other business segments: sales/marketing, customer service, engineering, quality, and finance
- Understand customer needs and the core business markets we serve
- Ensure business systems are implemented, maintained, and functioning properly
- Participate in required company meetings
- Maintain an organized work area (5S)
- Participate in the Operational Excellence Program
- Complete all other work duties as assigned
