About The Position

The Production Planner is responsible for developing and managing production schedules to ensure efficient operations, optimal resource utilization, and alignment with demand forecasts. This role oversees production planning, cross-functional coordination, capacity analysis, and continuous improvement of scheduling processes.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Master Scheduler, Production Planner, or similar role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ERP systems (e.g., Acumatica), and task management tools (e.g., Asana).
  • Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in kitchen cabinet manufacturing.
  • Experience working with international vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain weekly production schedules based on demand forecasts, inventory levels, and production capacity.
  • Adjust schedules as needed to address changes in demand, material availability, or production constraints.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation of production schedules, changes, and performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with shop floor teams to allocate labor, equipment, and materials effectively.
  • Evaluate production capacity against demand and identify potential constraints or bottlenecks.
  • Optimize resource utilization to meet production goals efficiently.
  • Coordinate with production, procurement, inventory, and logistics teams to ensure alignment with the overall production plan.
  • Facilitate communication between departments to ensure smooth workflow and execution.
  • Support alignment between scheduling and operational priorities.
  • Identify potential risks to the production schedule and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Proactively address disruptions and recommend solutions to minimize impact.
  • Ensure timely resolution of scheduling and production-related issues.
  • Analyze production and performance data to identify trends and assess operational efficiency.
  • Implement data-driven improvements to enhance scheduling effectiveness.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing principles.
  • Utilize ERP systems and task management tools to manage schedules and track performance.
  • Maintain accurate data within systems to support decision-making and reporting.
  • Develop reports and insights to improve visibility into production performance.
