About The Position

The Production Planner develops and maintains Production/Materials schedules to ensure on-time delivery. This role coordinates changes and priorities with business units and is responsible for acknowledging customer orders, maintaining lead times, and coordinating material flow and availability. The planner will also maintain order status in MAPICS, ensure purchased parts are available before production begins, and assist the Material Manager with quarterly inventory. The position requires working professionally and cooperatively with coworkers, maintaining good attendance, flexibility, adaptability to changing business needs, and a commitment to continuous learning.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school is preferred; plus six months to one year related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to see, read, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Knowledge of Word Processing software
  • Knowledge of Spreadsheet software

  • Knowledge of Manufacturing software
