About The Position

The Production Planner is responsible for coordinating and optimizing production schedules, inventory levels, raw material levels, and order fulfillment across chemical manufacturing and catalog distribution operations. This role ensures customer demand is met efficiently while maintaining regulatory compliance, minimizing costs, and maximizing plant productivity.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of purchasing and receiving activities and inventory control operations
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office
  • Demonstrated effective data analytic skills
  • Experience working with ERP programs (Materials Requirements Planning)
  • Excellent organizational, communication, collaborative and interpersonal skills
  • BA/BS degree in Business, Supply Chain or related field with 2+ years of Supply Chain or Procurement experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed production schedules for chemical manufacturing operations based on customer demand forecasts, sales orders, inventory targets, raw material lead times, and manufacturing capacity constraints.
  • Coordinate with sales and customer service, procurement, warehouse/logistics, quality assurance, and manufacturing teams.
  • Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, packaging components, finished goods, and catalog SKUs.
  • Ensure production plans align with GMP standards, safety requirements, and customer delivery expectations.
  • Analyze supply chain bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to improve on-time delivery, production efficiency, and inventory turns.
  • Manage ERP/MRP systems for work orders, material planning, and purchase requisitions.
  • Support new product launches and catalog expansions through coordinated planning.
  • Track KPIs such as schedule adherence, inventory accuracy, service levels, capacity utilization, and forecast accuracy.
  • Lead S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) support processes.
