Position Summary Production Planner works directly with the shop management team reporting to the Production Planning Manager. This position will ensure continuity of workflow and schedule between multiple production areas/Supervisors to maximize the efficiency of the collective Team. Monitor and measure performance to schedule attainment and work closely with the Production Planning Manager and shop leadership to correct and recover any losses. The role is a critical part of flow creation, monitoring and communication. Reports To: Production Planning Manager Work Location: 6401 North Eldridge Pkwy, Houston, TX 77041

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent GED
  • Must be fluent in English, with strong speaking, reading, writing, and comprehension skills.
  • US work authorization is a precondition of employment. The company will not consider candidates who require sponsorship for a work-authorized visa.
  • Successful candidate will need to satisfactorily complete pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience as a scheduler in a manufacturing or operations department
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office applications: Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor production schedules to ensure that orders are filled on time and in full
  • Troubleshoot production/scheduling issues and adjust as needed
  • Monitor inventory levels and initiate order supplies as needed
  • Track and report production metrics and performance
  • Work with Production Planner to review job orders and accordingly establish priorities and schedules
  • Assist in processing customer orders and shipments according to the established schedule
  • Coordinate with Production Planner in resolving production planning and completion issues
  • Monitor execution of job orders and adjust schedules for timely delivery
  • Plan and monitor material movement in production cycles to ensure continuous operations
  • Develop dynamic planning of activities across multi-functional teams and workstations to ensure optimal sequence of work
  • Review production plans to identify and report potential risks to Manager
  • Work with cross-functional teams to complete job orders on-time and within customer specifications
  • Establishing schedules for maintenance and day-to-day operations
  • Communicate production updates to Managers and shop leadership
  • Assist Operations Leaders in controlling production costs while maintaining the quality standards
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate properly in a professional work environment.
  • Ensuring quality assurance in personal area of responsibility
  • Help maintain consumables, and other orders or needs within responsible areas of production.

  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Communicate discrepancies and non-conformances immediately to management.
