About The Position

We are seeking a Production Planner (Production Control) who thrives on organization, problem-solving, and collaboration to help ensure jobs move efficiently through our manufacturing operations from start to finish. This position is ideal for someone who wants to be at the center of manufacturing operations without being tied to a machine. You'll gain exposure to engineering, production planning, quality, purchasing, and customer delivery while developing expertise in how precision manufacturing organizations operate. You'll have the opportunity to influence production efficiency and on-time delivery, work closely with multiple departments across the business, develop valuable planning, scheduling, and operations experience, and build a long-term career in a stable, growth-oriented manufacturing company.

Requirements

  • Manufacturing industry experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Working knowledge of Windows-based computer applications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to understand and process written correspondence and technical information.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.
  • U.S. citizenship or ability to comply with U.S. export regulations.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future employer sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two or more years of experience in a tool and die, precision machining, or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with MRP, ERP, scheduling, or production planning systems.

Responsibilities

  • Route and coordinate the manufacturing steps required for tools, dies, and precision components.
  • Enter, maintain, and extract job-related information within the MRP system.
  • Develop and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) in partnership with Engineering.
  • Plan and organize shop floor schedules while balancing machine capacity, labor availability, and material constraints.
  • Analyze production schedules, workflow, and manufacturing data to identify opportunities for improved efficiency.
  • Coordinate the movement of work between departments, divisions, and outside vendors.
  • Proactively communicate job status, priorities, and schedule changes with cross-functional teams.
  • Manage and reroute scrap, rework, and schedule disruptions to minimize production delays.
  • Support on-time delivery goals by ensuring work progresses efficiently through the manufacturing process.
