About The Position

This is a non-exempt position in support of various programs including Virginia Class New Construction and Delivered Ship availability. The successful candidate filling this position will be required to perform Detail Planning and/or Production Control functions which include, but are not limited to, Drawing reviews, MRP file load, Product Structuring, load or coordination of the load of SWSS and CPJ, Work Order management, software and hardware expediting in support of Work Order schedules, change processing, and work completion closeout. In order to perform these functions, successful candidates will be required to interface with Operations, Engineering, Design, Material Systems, Configuration Management, Quality and other support organizations at various levels of management. The Individual filling this position will be called upon to represent planning at various Construction statuses, Process Improvement and Program Review meetings. The successful candidates will be expected to be aware of and in compliance with those attributes of Safety, Quality, Cost, Schedule and Process Improvement as they apply to their position. This position is fully on site at our Groton, CT location with work hours of 6:30am - 2:30 pm.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of experience in a Trade/Military/Planning role
  • 2+ years of experience working in an Electrical environment
  • Blueprint skills proficiency
  • Good PC computer skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Good verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with Engineering reports

Nice To Haves

  • 2 or 4 year College degree
  • Prior shipyard or submarine experience
