About The Position

ATI Millersburg is seeking a Production Planner to join their team. This position is based in Albany, Oregon, and reports to the Director of Supply Chain. The role is a day shift, on-site position with no remote work option. The Production Planner is responsible for ensuring the smooth flow of materials to and through their assigned Area Business Teams (ABT), maintaining alignment between manufacturing and shipment plans while upholding high quality and safety standards.

Requirements

  • 5 years of professional experience in a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy (DOE) Security Clearance.
  • Candidates must be willing and able to provide information necessary to verify eligibility and receive authorization to access Controlled Unclassified information related to U.S. Department of Defense or U.S. Department of Energy programs.

Nice To Haves

  • Must have ASCM CPIM certification or be willing to obtain certification within the first 12 months in the role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or other relevant technical field.
  • 2 years' experience in manufacturing (internship experience will be considered).
  • Experience in production planning and/or control areas with a solid understanding of manufacturing procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, OBI, PowerBI, OPM.

Responsibilities

  • Creating and updating production schedules based on operational execution changes to meet customer demands.
  • Maintaining batch step dates and scheduled ship dates by SRN (shipment reschedule notification) as needed.
  • Collaborating cross-functionally to ensure all necessary materials and resources are planned appropriately based on capacity.
  • Working closely with the Area Business Engineer (ABE) to set the production plan based on customer requirements, rescheduling material flow based on ABE feedback, setting inventory targets, and implementing specific inventory action plans.
  • Managing key performance indicators to compare actual production performance against established standards (Production to Plan, PTP).
  • Working closely with Planning Managers to ensure proper order management (new orders, late line recovery, quality issues requiring replanning, batch assignment, and changes in operations capability) and that demand does not exceed capacity, ultimately translating requirements into an operations production plan.
  • Working closely with the Sales Team as the integral communication point between operations and customers, with weekly connections to review changes in production and required dates.
  • Overseeing the production process to ensure adherence to the schedule and meeting quality standards.
  • Identifying potential bottlenecks, delays, or issues in the production process and implementing corrective actions to minimize disruptions.
  • Coordinating production planning with maintenance planning and scheduling needs.
  • Rescheduling batches based on non-conforming material, including rework, and attending quality DMB meetings for communication from quality and engineering teams.
  • Preparing and presenting regular reports on demand vs. capacity analysis in a 0-3 month timeframe, on-time delivery, and inventory.
  • Participating in or leading initiatives to improve production planning processes, such as improving standard work processes, lean manufacturing, and Six Sigma projects.
