About The Position

The Production Planning & Procurement Specialist is responsible for ensuring uninterrupted plant operations by coordinating production plans, managing inventory levels, and procuring raw materials to meet customer demand and business objectives. Working closely with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Customer Service, and Operations teams, this role develops and maintains production schedules, monitors inventory to optimize stock levels and ensures timely availability of materials. The position plays a key role in balancing production efficiency, inventory management, and supply continuity to support safe, reliable, and cost-effective operations at the Clifton plant.

Requirements

  • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 or more years of experience in production planning, scheduling, procurement, inventory management in an industrial environment.
  • Experience using ERP systems for production planning, purchasing, and inventory management.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience using SAP including Production Planning, Scheduling, and Procurement functions
  • Experience with 5S Methodology
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements and best utilize the company’s production capacity.
  • Purchase raw materials/chemicals to support production schedule while managing lead-times, storage space and production requirements.
  • Collaborate with Operations to meet established schedules and maintain stock levels.
  • Collaborate with Customer Service and Supply Chain to ensure product availability and delivery.
  • Establish safety stock levels for packaged products based on historical usage, sales forecasts, and current demand.
  • Monitor slow-moving and non-working inventories, reworking and blending as needed.
  • Work with the Warehouse Manager to maintain adequate finished product stock and address storage space issues.
  • Investigate alternate suppliers and raw material versions based on market changes to improve productivity and safety.
  • Set shipping requirements with suppliers regarding equipment, labeling, and delivery times.
  • Represent the plant in quality and service issues involving raw materials and suppliers, maintaining service and quality records.
  • Enter raw material purchase orders into SAP S4, create process orders, generate batch sheets, and reconcile completed batch data.
  • Support the Warehouse Manager and Production Department, maintain critical inventory levels, and assist with special projects and HSE&S responsibilities
