About The Position

The Production Planner I coordinates with the operations and procurement teams to ensure the movement of materials and resources through departments to meet production schedules. Crane Aerospace & Electronics supplies critical systems and components to the aerospace and defense markets. Requirements

• 5+ years’ experience in scheduling, supply chain or fulfillment
• Strong working knowledge of manufacturing, production planning and materials control functions
• Strong understanding of Kanban Systems, JIT, POU, FIFO, Level loading, with a manufacturing process understanding preferred
• Expert in using scheduling and capacity planning tools
• experience with Oracle
• Significant experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Access
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, good communication and interpersonal skills
• BS degree required
• This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US Persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Lean Manufacturing strongly preferred
• Experience with Oracle (11i preferred)

Responsibilities

• Draw up master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders
• Analyze production specifications and plant capacity data to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements
• Plan and schedule workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times
• Plan sequence of fabrication and other manufacturing operations for guidance of production workers
• Confer with supervisors to determine status of assigned projects; expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions
• Prepare production reports
• Prepare purchase orders to obtain materials, tools, and equipment
• Any other tasks assigned by supervisor or management
