About The Position

Charter Steel is hiring for a Production Overhead Crane Operator on the night shift. This is a full-time position with stable hours, offering overtime opportunities. The role involves operating an overhead crane, using power tools to remove kerf from billets, applying ID tags with a welding torch, marking billets with chalk, and placing chains and spacer bars between billets. The position also includes performing quality inspections and requires frequent walking, standing, pushing/pulling, and lifting up to 35 lbs. The schedule is a rotating 5-2-2-5 pattern with 12-hour shifts.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED
• Comfortable with basic math (like counting and simple calculations)
• Team player who works well and communicates with others
• Background in manufacturing or industrial production, assembly, warehouse, welding, construction, metals, steel, or other hands on jobs
• Strong safe work mindset

• Forklift & Overhead Crane experience is a plus!
