About The Position

This role is responsible for operating the coffee bagging machine to fill bags to the correct target weight. The operator will feed filled bags through a vertical band sealer, ensuring clean and complete seals free of coffee, oil, or wrinkles. Routine weight and seal integrity checks are performed throughout the shift, with adjustments made to the line when it drifts out of specification. The operator must verify the correct bag, label, lot code, and date code are used before and during production runs. Responsibilities also include loading bagging film, labels, and packaging materials, making basic machine adjustments, and case packing, stacking, and staging finished product. Cleaning and sanitizing equipment, including the bagging machine, band sealer, hoppers, contact surfaces, and surrounding work area, is a key part of the role, along with completing end-of-shift cleaning. Maintaining an organized and audit-ready work area is essential. Additionally, the operator must accurately complete daily production, output, and sanitation records, confirming what was cleaned, when, and by whom. Adherence to food safety requirements, GMPs, food defense practices, and safety rules is mandatory, as is supporting SQF audits and internal inspections by keeping records current and complete.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, and complete written documentation in English
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Comfort operating production machinery
  • Prior experience in food, beverage, or coffee manufacturing
  • Familiarity with GMPs, HACCP, or SQF
  • Stand and walk for the full shift
  • Lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly
  • Bend, reach, twist, and perform repetitive hand and arm motions
  • Work in an environment with moving machinery, coffee dust, noise, and varying temperatures

Responsibilities

  • Run the bagging line
  • Operate the coffee bagging machine to fill bags to the correct target weight
  • Feed filled bags through the vertical band sealer and confirm every seal is clean, complete, and free of coffee, oil, or wrinkles
  • Perform routine weight checks and seal integrity checks throughout the shift and correct the line when it drifts out of spec
  • Verify that the correct bag, label, lot code, and date code are running before and during each production run
  • Load bagging film, labels, and packaging materials and make basic machine adjustments as needed
  • Case pack, stack, and stage finished product for the warehouse team
  • Clean and sanitize the equipment
  • Complete full end of shift cleaning of the bagging machine, band sealer, hoppers, contact surfaces, and surrounding work area
  • Keep the work area organized and audit ready at all times
  • Accurately complete daily production and output records
  • Accurately complete daily sanitation records confirming what was cleaned, when, and by whom
  • Follow food safety requirements
  • Follow all GMPs, food defense practices, and safety rules
  • Support SQF audits and internal inspections by keeping records current and complete
