About The Position

This position is in the Finishing Department and operates from 5am to 3:30pm, Monday through Thursday. The role involves performing various operations using machinery and equipment after receiving proper training and validation. Key responsibilities include obtaining first piece approval, inspecting products according to specifications using calibrated measuring equipment, maintaining accurate counts, and properly identifying and recording the status of work in progress. The operator will also record SPC data, enter job-specific information into the Sturges integrated computer system, and maintain a clean work area. All team members are expected to understand and adhere to safety, human resource, and quality policies, as well as relevant procedures and work instructions, and how their goals contribute to the company's success. This is a safety-sensitive position requiring constant alertness.

Requirements

• Able to read a standard and metric tape measure.
• Must have attention to detail.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Basic math skills.
• Strong team player.
• Able to read, write and fluently communicate in English.

Nice To Haves

• High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• Sewing experience in a manufacturing environment and/or production assembly experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform applicable operations as noted on job traveler/work instructions using machinery/equipment that the Team Member has been trained and validated to operate.
• Obtain first piece approval prior to production.
• Inspect products per part drawings and proof plans using calibrated measuring equipment as defined in the product’s proof plan.
• Maintain accurate counts throughout all operations.
• Properly identify/record work and test/inspection status of work in process.
• Record SPC data as required.
• Accurately enter job specific information into Sturges integrated computer system.
• Maintain a neat and clean work area.
• Know and understand all safety, human resource, and quality policies, including the procedures, work instructions applicable to their position, and how their goals relate to the success of the company.
