About The Position

The Production Operator position is a full-time role responsible for operating lining and molding auxiliary equipment. This includes performing order and material changes, as well as machine start-ups and shut-downs. The role requires identifying and troubleshooting machine issues to ensure quality parts are produced safely. This is a Safety Sensitive Position.

Requirements

  • Minimum High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Good verbal and written English.
  • Mechanical aptitude required.

Responsibilities

  • Operate lining, molding auxiliary equipment assigned by rotation schedule or supervisor.
  • Properly perform order and material changes and lining machine start-ups/shut-downs.
  • Properly perform order changes and shut-downs on molding machines.
  • Identify issues and troubleshoot machines to produce quality parts safely.
  • Notify mold tech, shift lead or shift supervisor in the event of molding machine irregularities.
  • Enter startup and shutdown into DelmiaWorks system for order changes.
  • Enter all downtime reason codes into ERP for tracking.
  • Verify raw materials comply with work requirements.
  • Sample and visually inspect production every 30 minutes, document quality inspections hourly, and place product on hold by entering process correction (PCR).
  • Prepare for color changes; notify mold tech, lead or supervisor when color change is needed.
  • Inform supervisor/lead of substandard production quality.
  • Check material quality and call for more materials if necessary.
  • Check that all machine sensors, cap-guides and adjustable conveyors are operating properly.
  • Inform supervisor/lead of machine problems and fill out maintenance work requests (MRO).
  • Inform supervisor/lead if machines are not capable of running at standard.
  • Clean machines and work areas of material, caps, oil, etc., clean filters, and perform scheduled sanitation duties.
  • Fill and empty color and virgin hoppers.
  • Segregate, inspect and sort scrap material.
  • Relieve Production Operators and Mold Techs during breaks.
  • Backup Production Operators and Mold Techs for other shifts; cover for absences/vacations on other shifts on a volunteer basis.
  • Follow all GMP guidelines.
  • Adhere to all safety rules and procedures.
  • Complete all necessary documentation for all assigned machines.
  • Follow manufacturing Work Order (BOM).
  • Reintroduce rejected parts after physical inspection, if parts are good.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by Supervision/Management.
  • Attend Green Area Meetings.
  • Responsible for following all Food Safety related policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for following all Safety Rules, policies, procedures and work instructions.
  • Sort through and visually inspect rejected cartons.
  • Complete appropriate Track Pro / Paulson training for position.
