About The Position

PPG is seeking a Production Operator for their Oak Creek facility. This role focuses on setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting manufacturing production equipment, including machining, processing, assembly, or packaging. The operator will be responsible for preparing equipment and supplies for job orders, operating equipment safely and efficiently, ensuring equipment is in good working condition, and identifying any replacements, malfunctions, or repairs needed. Additionally, the role involves assisting junior operators, cleaning equipment, evaluating performance, and operating industrial vehicles to transfer materials. Adherence to safety procedures and company policies is crucial.

Requirements

  • Ability to lift to 50 pounds on a consistent basis throughout the day.
  • Ability to work any job and work overtime as needed.
  • Must be clean shaven to wear proper PPE.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Setup the production equipment and supplies before executing the job orders.
  • Operate equipment safely and effectively for production processing.
  • Ensure that equipment are maintained in good and safe working condition.
  • Inspect equipment to identify any replacements, malfunctions and repairs.
  • Provide assistance to junior operators in their assigned responsibilities.
  • Clean the equipment when needed.
  • Evaluate equipment performance and recommend improvements.
  • Operate trucks and other industrial vehicles to transfer the production materials between warehouse and working area.
  • Follow safety procedures and company policies for equipment operation.
