About The Position

The Production Operator I will work in a production-based team setting to assemble and produce American Battery Solutions (ABS) battery pack systems to meet customer requirements and expectations. The Production Operator is charged with assisting operations in the launch and assembly of new products.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Manufacturing experience required.
  • Knowledge of quality systems such as ISO 9001 or IATF16949.
  • Successfully meet the 30/60/90-day Review.
  • Minimum of ninety (90) days of training and a total of 960 hours.
  • Successfully pass Competency Knowledge Check on four (4) competencies: Safety, Teamwork, Quality & Decision Making.
  • Successfully meet the requirements of the Observation Checklist.
  • Meet required hours for the operations outlined within the Production Operator Advancement process.
  • Equivalent external experience will be considered.
  • Successful completion of all required training and qualification requirements is expected within a defined training period.
  • Basic problem-solving capabilities for troubleshooting issues in the production environment.
  • Demonstrates ongoing awareness and understanding of process changes, updates, and related work instructions within work areas.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in electrification assembly line/high voltage/electrical component handling/battery manufacturing preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble products to customer requirements and company goals.
  • Meet takt and cycle time, throughput expectations, and standard work for each assigned operation.
  • Apply basic waste‑reduction practices that support Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) and First Time Yield (FTY).
  • Participate when required in Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and work instruction reviews.
  • Identify and support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing scrap, lowering costs, and improving efficiency.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
  • Follow all work instructions, standard operating procedures Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and documented processes for assigned tasks or stations.
  • Participate in safety activities (e.g., safety observations, GEMBA walks) and contribute ideas for improving 6S or ergonomics.
  • Complete all required safety training and consistently comply with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.
  • Support weekend and off shift work as required.
  • Adhere to federal and state regulations.
  • Adhere to all company policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
