About The Position

The Production Operator role involves operating a single machine or a wide range of production equipment in accordance with work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOP), mixing and/or compound recipes, visual standards, and other Company policies and procedures. This role is responsible for achieving or exceeding individual or team output and scrap targets, and proactively communicating any issues impacting output or quality. The operator will also be responsible for processing rejected material, product inspection, proper packaging, and maintaining a clean and safe work area. This is an entry-level position with on-the-job training provided.

Requirements

High school education or GED preferred
Entry level position; 0-2 years’ production or assembly experience.
On the job training will be provided.

Responsibilities

Operation of production equipment in accordance with work instructions, SOPs, recipes, and visual standards.
Application of mold release and/or cleaning of mold, tools, and other production equipment.
Ensuring inserts are properly loaded into tools/cavities prior to molding.
Achieving or exceeding individual or team output and scrap targets.
Proactively notifying lead operators, production supervision, equipment maintenance, quality, and other personnel of issues impacting output or product quality.
Processing rejected material/product for review and/or rework, including trimming, buffing, reworking, and assembling parts.
Performing product inspection, ensuring working knowledge of quality standards and alerts.
Placing conforming product into proper packing containers and ensuring proper tracking/classification of rejected product.
Completing job tickets, box labels, transfer tags, inspection stamps, and other required documentation.
Stacking or loading bins, boxes, or totes of raw materials or finished goods.
Placing non-conforming product into designated discard or material review areas.
Performing required daily/weekly/monthly equipment checks.
Identifying issues negatively impacting equipment performance or product/material scrap.
Maintaining good housekeeping/5S at all times.
Participating in problem-solving activities or teams for continuous improvement.
Updating visual control boards or completing other production reports.
Providing support during site visits by customers, auditors, and other guests.
Ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Recognizing and reporting unsafe conditions immediately.
Completing job-specific training as required.
Performing all other duties as may be assigned or required.
