About The Position

The Production Operator is responsible for producing a quality American Trim product by following established procedures. This role involves reading process sheets and documentation, inspecting and transferring products, communicating with the Line Operator about any issues, performing specialized tasks, assisting with packaging, and maintaining general housekeeping of the work area. The position requires good hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, and the ability to work at a fast pace while identifying defects. The operator must also be able to read and interpret safety rules and operating instructions, perform basic mathematical calculations, and apply common sense to problem-solving.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Good hand-eye coordination.

• Ability to work at a fast pace while looking for defects.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Read process sheets, specifications, and related documentation for job processing.
• Inspect and place or transfer products on the coating line according to process sheets and/or loading diagrams.
• Inspect and package products from the coating line according to process sheets and/or packaging sheets.
• Communicate with the Line Operator regarding any defects, problems, or issues.
• Perform specialized wiping and transferring of various products when trained and assigned.
• Assist the Material Handler in preparing packaging needs.
• Maintain general housekeeping of the area, including proper disposal of scrap and rework, returning documentation and tooling, and sweeping the area at the end of the shift.
