About The Position

Wabtec is seeking a Production Operator for their Young Touchstone business unit at the Jackson, TN location. This role is part of the Heat Transfer & Energy Solutions team and reports directly to the area Supervisor. The Production Operator will be responsible for assembling a wide variety of products by following specified work instructions and engineering drawings, ensuring the quality of their work, and meeting production standards. A key aspect of this role is to continually look for ways to improve production processes and prioritize safety.

Requirements

High School Graduate or GED.
1+ years of welding experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
Ability to read and comprehend industrial blueprints.
Must possess the ability to use tools and equipment that are needed to perform the assembly operations in an industrial setting.
Must have good listening and communication skills.
Able to work well with others and to be a good team player.

Responsibilities

Assemble or disassemble on a production line.
Assist or train in multiple work cells.
Follow specified work instructions to assemble and test as required.
Follow applicable procedures.
Keep work area clean and in order.
Follow all company Safety procedures and guidelines.
Report malfunction of equipment and process deviations to appropriate personnel.
Perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.
