Requirements

• Physically able to lift bags of materials weighing up to 55 pounds repetitively.
• Able to work in a labor-intensive position.
• Ability to perform lifting, standing, bending, twisting, and stooping for up to 12 hours per day.
• Physically able to work in a hot environment for up to 12 hours per day.
• High School Diploma required.
• At least 1-4 years of experience in a production environment.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Nice To Haves

• Previous forklift experience preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude is a plus.
• Knowledge of standard practices and procedures is desired.

Responsibilities

• Follows all safety rules and regulations, including attending daily Safety Meetings and completing monthly Safety participation requirements.
• Responsible for making batches of adhesive following batch sheet instructions, including reading batch sheets and adding appropriate raw materials.
• Operates lab equipment for quality control testing.
• Records information during the batching process and testing data upon completion.
• Removes all waste material from the batch making area upon completion of each batch.
• Operates a forklift to transport raw materials and/or finished goods.
• Maintains good housekeeping standards by keeping the work area free from excessive waste.
• Performs operator cleaning and care on a regular basis.
• Advises Shift Lead Man or Supervisor of any problems during the shift.
• Performs all required duties and tasks in a timely manner and in accordance with Greif policies.
• Trains as backup to Shipping, Draw Off, and Tote Washing positions and fills in as necessary.
• Performs other tasks as assigned by Supervisor or Lead Man.
