About The Position

Omya is a leading global producer of industrial minerals – mainly fillers and pigments derived from calcium carbonate and dolomite – and a worldwide distributor of specialty chemicals. As a Production Operator, you will support both wet and dry manufacturing operations. Under general supervision, you will operate production equipment, monitor processes, and ensure products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and in accordance with quality specifications. This role is part of the core production team required to sustain normal plant operations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Basic chemistry knowledge
  • Computer literacy
  • Ability to complete production and quality documentation accurately
  • Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers
  • Willingness to work rotating 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and overtime
  • Ability to work independently when required
  • Comfortable working in industrial environments with exposure to heat, cold, noise, and dust
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing stairs, prolonged standing, and operating mobile equipment

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor wet and dry production equipment in accordance with established procedures
  • Select, move, and load raw materials and intermediates into production systems
  • Follow bills of materials and process specifications to ensure correct material quantities and sequencing
  • Monitor process parameters, read control instruments, and accurately complete production and quality records
  • Perform required quality checks and tests to verify product compliance
  • Prepare products for packaging, intermediate handling, or shipment
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas through daily housekeeping and 5S activities
  • Comply with all health, safety, quality, and environmental requirements and internal policies
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying process or equipment issues and supporting corrective actions
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support plant operations
