About The Position

The Production Operator is responsible for operating lining and molding auxiliary equipment, performing order and material changes, and managing machine start-ups and shut-downs. This role requires troubleshooting skills to ensure the production of quality parts safely. The position is designated as Safety Sensitive.

Requirements

  • Minimum High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Good verbal and written English.
  • Mechanical aptitude required.

Responsibilities

  • Operate lining and molding auxiliary equipment as assigned by rotation schedule or supervisor.
  • Perform order and material changes on lining and molding machines.
  • Perform lining machine start-ups and shut-downs.
  • Identify issues and troubleshoot machines to produce quality parts safely.
  • Notify mold tech, shift lead, or shift supervisor of molding machine irregularities.
  • Enter startup and shutdown information into the DelmiaWorks system.
  • Enter all downtime reason codes into the ERP for tracking.
  • Verify raw materials comply with work requirements.
  • Sample and visually inspect production every 30 minutes.
  • Document quality inspections hourly.
  • Place product on hold by entering a process correction (PCR).
  • Prepare for color changes and notify appropriate personnel when a color change is needed.
  • Inform supervisor/lead of substandard production quality.
  • Check material quality and request more materials if necessary.
  • Ensure all machine sensors, cap-guides, and adjustable conveyors are operating properly.
  • Inform supervisor/lead of machine problems and complete maintenance work requests (MRO).
  • Inform supervisor/lead if machines are not capable of running at standard.
  • Clean machines and work areas, including filters and scheduled sanitation duties.
  • Fill and empty color and virgin hoppers.
  • Segregate, inspect, and sort scrap material.
  • Relieve Production Operators and Mold Techs during breaks.
  • Act as backup for Production Operators and Mold Techs on other shifts for absences/vacations on a volunteer basis.
  • Follow all GMP guidelines.
  • Adhere to all safety rules and procedures.
  • Complete all necessary documentation for assigned machines and follow manufacturing Work Orders (BOM).
  • Reintroduce rejected parts after physical inspection if they are deemed good.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by Supervision/Management.
  • Attend Green Area Meetings.
  • Sort through and visually inspect rejected cartons.
  • Complete appropriate Track Pro / Paulson training for the position.
