Our Evansville, IN, location is part of our Coatings division, and creates various breading, batter, and coating blends for Kerry brands and customers. The Primary Purpose of a Packer Operator is to ensure that the finished product is packed according to the item specifications. They confirm the correct bag and labels are prepared and used correctly. They monitor the sealing process and check for any bags not sealed properly. It is the Packer Operator’s job to ensure the product presentation is acceptable.

• Ability to read, write and communicate in English at a level to facilitate the understanding of the terminology of the job.
• Ability to comprehend and follow written and/or verbal procedures or instructions.
• Ability to organize and plan ahead to maximize job efficiency and work safely.
• Ability to drive for excellence in all areas; focus on effective internal relationships.
• High School Diploma or GED

Nice To Haves

• 1+ years of manufacturing experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Sample procedures to ensure quality checks
• Attention to detail and record keeping
• Review and plan for the daily production schedule specific to your position
• Stage raw material (bags, supersacks) inventory
• Must be able to drive a fork truck
• Tracking and trending SPC charting for bag weights and make necessary adjustments
• Ensures hourly metal detector checks are completed and documented
• Maintain a clean workspace during production and at the end of the shift
• Reports to the Lead Operator
• Report all Accidents and Near-Misses immediately.
• Report all Maintenance issues to Lead Operator to enter into the Maintenance work order system
• Create positive relationships with coworkers
• Other duties and projects as assigned
