About The Position

The Production Operator will be responsible for the inspection of, evaluation of, and preventative maintenance on all plant equipment. This role requires shift work, overtime, and weekend duty as assigned or needed. The incumbent will also be required to perform other duties and tasks as directed by the Control Room Leader.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of bolts, fasteners, air hoses and coupling devices.
  • Ability to operate proficiently a front-end loader, utility trucks, forklifts, Guzzler, skid loader, sweeper, Euclid, portable compressors and road grader.
  • Knowledge of use and interpretation of technical parts and service manuals.
  • Knowledge of the care and use of plumbing and pipefitting tools.
  • Knowledge of tanks, pumps, industrial air compressors and lubrication types and systems.
  • Ability to clean, prepare and/or inspect various equipment and/or areas assigned.
  • HS Diploma or GED.
  • Must be computer literate and able to learn the flow of the plant.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as: safety policies/procedures, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports.
  • Participative leadership profile according to a high-performance work environment.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Three years of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Inspection of, evaluation of, and preventative maintenance on all plant equipment.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
  • Operate a front-end loader, utility trucks, forklifts, Guzzler, skid loader, sweeper, Euclid, portable compressors and road grader.
  • Clean, prepare and/or inspect various equipment and/or areas assigned.
  • Inspect equipment reported to be out of order or malfunctioning and determine the extent of the repairs needed.
  • Use diagnostic equipment to determine the problem(s) and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Dismantle equipment to correct unit failures and assemble and/or adjust equipment as needed.
  • Operate equipment to test its functionality.
  • Clean (solvent/steam) and lubricate equipment as needed.
  • Maintain a clean work area.
  • Document all repairs & inspections made.
  • Perform general housekeeping and grounds maintenance.
  • Use all safety procedures and guidelines during the performance of all duties.
  • Practice and support Continuous Improvement Program.
  • Communicate thoroughly with various plant personnel about plant repairs that are needed.
