About The Position

Carlisle Construction Materials has an opening for a Production Operator at its CCM Polyiso plant in Terrell, Texas. The operator performs hands-on production and warehousing work involving Poly-ISO insulation and helps maintain the flow of materials through the production process.

The role operates on a set shift, initially with 8-hour shifts and pre-shift work. The facility runs at a fast pace, currently 24/5, with a possible transition to 24/7 and to 12-hour shifts. Work takes place inside an insulation manufacturing facility and includes overnight travel of up to 10% to other facilities and training.

Requirements

• Ability to operate a forklift.
• Basic math, reading, and writing skills.
• Ability to use power and hand tools, such as chop saws, table saws, and band saws.
• Strong verbal communication and listening skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and read production orders.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to read measuring gauges, including tape measures and calipers.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and grasp, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, reach above the shoulders, bend, and twist.

Nice To Haves

• Forklift experience preferred.
• Previous manufacturing environment experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Basic computer experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Move materials using a forklift.
• Operate production and packaging equipment.
• Follow production schedules, job instructions, quality standards, specifications, and procedures.
• Detect, correct, and report faulty operations or defective materials.
• Calculate production output, including square feet, sheet length, linear feet, and units.
• Measure, cut, and glue materials.
• Operate equipment safely and comply with personal safety requirements.
• Maintain good housekeeping and workplace organization using 5S/Lean Manufacturing practices.
• Perform other assigned production responsibilities.
