About The Position

This role is for a Production Operator in the Gypsum Fiber Products department. The operator will be responsible for adhering to safety and housekeeping requirements in a manufacturing setting, operating production equipment, troubleshooting issues, and making necessary adjustments to meet product and quality specifications. The role also involves recording production data, performing basic maintenance on equipment, and actively participating in plant safety and continuous improvement initiatives. Adaptability to scheduling requirements, including shiftwork and overtime, is expected.

Requirements

Able to work in a manufacturing setting in a safe manner and follow all plant safety and housekeeping rules.
Ability to learn to operate and troubleshoot plant equipment.
Ability to interpret verbal and written work instructions.
Ability to apply basic computer skills required for data entry and reporting.
Proficiency at taking measurements as needed to verify product is within specifications.
Possess basic maintenance skills, including familiarity with common hand tools and how to properly use them (Hammer, wrench, screwdrivers, pliers, putty knife, etc.).
Effective teamwork and communication skills needed with all co-workers.
Maintain regular and predictable attendance.

Responsibilities

Adhere to all safety/housekeeping requirements within a manufacturing setting.
Operate production equipment, including troubleshooting and making necessary adjustments to ensure product and quality specifications are met.
Record production data and other results in the required manner.
Apply basic maintenance skills to help service equipment.
Take an active role in all plant safety and continuous improvement initiatives as required by supervision.
Adapt to scheduling requirements including shiftwork, assignment of overtime, working weekends, etc. where applicable.
