Production Operator
About The Position
The Production Operator will be responsible for operating all manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently, meeting production standards, and maintaining good housekeeping. This role ensures safety and quality throughout the production process, including performing manual and visual quality inspections. The operator will also be responsible for cleaning equipment and their work area, sorting product as needed, and assisting in changeovers. Cross-training across multiple operations such as presses, palletizers, seamers, and/or slitters is expected. The operator will work directly with team members to meet all safety, quality, and productivity goals and perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Experience in a fast-paced, Manufacturing Environment
- Must have the willingness and ability to effectively communicate with peers, supervisors and other levels of the organization to create a positive, team-oriented environment
- Ability to read and write in English
- Basic Math skills such as addition, subtraction and taking measurements
- Must be willing to work evening or night shift and weekends as needed based on business need
Responsibilities
- Operate all manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently
- Demonstrate ability to meet production standards on specific assignments within required time
- Maintain good housekeeping and clean work areas in assigned space
- Responsible for safety and quality throughout the production process, including following all safety procedures and performing manual and visual quality inspection of products as assigned
- Responsible for cleaning equipment and area before, during, and after shift
- May be responsible for sorting product as needed to ensure quality shipments
- Assist in changeovers when needed
- Is responsible for cross-training across multiple operations such as presses, palletizers, seamers and/or slitters
- Responsible for working directly with team members to meet all safety, quality and productivity goals
- Performs other duties as required by Supervisor or Manager
