About The Position
The Production Operator's main purpose is to descale coil and coat steel wire/rod so it can be annealed or processed in wire draw machines. This role is crucial for preparing materials for further manufacturing processes within the company.
Requirements
- Able to read, write and speak English.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
Nice To Haves
- Overhead crane experience in an industrial setting is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Read, understand, and follow Coil Safety at O&K American.
- Read, understand, and follow all production procedures for CH.
- Follow schedule for wire drawing, cleaning house, shipping, and annealing as a Loader.
- Check all tags for grade, production and coil number, heat #, and scan tags.
- Inspect coil coatings.
- Perform visual inspection of coils, checking for coating, surface defects, and packaging.
- Place coil on wire drawing stands.
- Operate overhead cranes and forklifts.
- Clean out tanks.
- Keep area clean and organized following the 5s program.
- Follow safety procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
