About The Position

This role involves performing various line duties within a manufacturing environment, including processing, machine operation, and relief operator tasks. Responsibilities encompass operating and maintaining production equipment, ensuring material accuracy, completing documentation and quality checks, and performing cleaning and sanitation tasks. The position also requires troubleshooting operational issues, maintaining inter-departmental communication, and adhering to all company and regulatory standards for food safety, quality, and sanitation. A key aspect of the role includes safely operating a forklift for loading and inventory management, assisting with inventory counts, and maintaining accurate shipping and powder sampling records.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 to 3 years of manufacturing/production experience, preferably in the dairy or consumer goods industry
  • Knowledge of plant operations
  • Proficiency with company computer systems
  • Able to operate production equipment, components, and peripheral accessories
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to follow directions and meet deadlines
  • Able to take appropriate steps to find solutions to problems
  • Able to perform task and duties under general supervision
  • Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of line duties within the manufacturing environment to include processing, machine operator, and/or break relief operator jobs (e.g., Receiver, Palletizer, Blend/Filler/CIP/Mix/Packaging/Loader operators).
  • Clean, set-up, operate, and monitor equipment on the production line.
  • Ensure that the proper materials are used for each product being produced.
  • Complete all required documentation and scheduled quality checks.
  • Review charts, screens, quality check sheets, and specifications that are in both hard copy and electronic format.
  • Perform cleaning and sanitation tasks as required to maintain plant equipment; complete cleaning checklist once line has completed run.
  • Prepare equipment for next run to include size changes as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic to moderate operating difficulties.
  • Maintain communication with other departments, supervisor, and employees and notify them of any problems and/or concerns that may restrict the efficiency of production.
  • Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible, and accurate format and completed with required information. Ensure all required information is documented in accordance with SOP’s.
  • Review process data and equipment performance data to improve quality, throughput, and troubleshoot.
  • Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements.
  • Safely operate a forklift, including a standing forklift, to load trucks and move inventory from one location to another.
  • Perform routine machine adjustments.
  • Accurately maintain inventory records and paperwork.
  • Assist with monthly inventory counts, year-end inventory counts, and cycle counts as required.
  • Accurately maintain shipping paperwork.
  • Assist with powder sampling in accordance with U.S.D.A. guidelines.
  • Maintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issues.
