About The Position

Under the direct supervision of supervisor, assists in all aspects of department operations. This is a full time day shift position, 7:00am - 3:30pm. The role involves ensuring inventory accuracy, providing initial assessment of CR's and NCR's, and ensuring equitable treatment of all employees. The Production Operator Lead is responsible for preparing and delivering shift pass downs, supervising employees in the absence of the department supervisor, and ensuring team members adhere to Hamilton manufacturing standards through process audits. This role also includes training personnel, assigning Work Orders, operating stations/equipment, purchasing consumables, managing work station manning and labor shifts, and articulating departmental needs to cross-functional teams. Escalation of material shortages and technical/process issues is also a key responsibility.

Requirements

  • Ability to work accurately in a fast paced environment to meet quality and quantity quotas.
  • Able to quality check finished product and send unsatisfactory items to rework.
  • Proven experience with safe production practices.
  • Stable work history.
  • Basic math required for computing quantities and simple addition and subtraction for counting parts.
  • Excellent manual dexterity, ability to work with small components and hand tools, and a keen eye for detail and quality.
  • Must be able to read and follow detailed manufacturing instructions.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Minimum two years of leadership experience.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing environment.

  • Technical Certificate and/or LEAP or CTE Program Completion Preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in all aspects of department operations under direct supervision of supervisor.
  • Ensures awareness of employee behavior, working conditions, and equipment safety, escalating when necessary and taking corrective action.
  • Ensures inventory accuracy in area of responsibility through accurate inventory issuance, movements, and cycle count compliance.
  • Provides initial assessment of CR's and NCR's based on scope.
  • Provides equitable treatment to all employees within the department.
  • Prepares and delivers shift based pass down clearly summarizing performance to plan and support needs.
  • Supervises employees in the absence of department supervisor.
  • Ensures team members are adhering to the Hamilton manufacturing standards, through process audits.
  • Trains personnel including execution of training validation: material issuance, clocking, quality of product.
  • Assigns Work Orders to associates.
  • Operates all stations / equipment in area of scope.
  • Purchases consumables materials as directed.
  • Manages work station manning and shifting of labor to assure adherence to production schedules and cost control.
  • Clearly articulates departmental needs with cross functional team members in the form of: problem statement, impact, resolution needed.
  • Timely escalation of material shortages and follow up for resolution.
  • Timely escalation of technical or process related issues and follow up for resolution.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
