About The Position

The Layup Operator performs the functions of Feeder, Panel Flip, Door Build, and Sorter. All layup Team Members are required to learn the duties of Feeder, Panel Flip, Door Build, and Sorter. A Layup Team member will rotate to each job upon building 15 stacks containing 30 doors per stack.

  • Ability to perform a job that include repetitive pushing, pulling, and lifting
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain pace of a Team

Responsibilities

  • Review Traveler Ticket to verify correct door size and stile size
  • Conduct visual inspection of door parts and ensure each part is free of defects (Stile, Rail, Lock Block, and Core)
  • Ensure consistent feeding of parts through feeder in the following order: 1) Stile 2) Rail 3) Lock Block 4) and Core
  • Maintain consistent pace of the Top Door Builder.
  • Ensure adherence to the daily Production Building Schedule
  • Ensure work area is cleaned at the end of each shift
  • Checks door skins for defects to ensure quality
  • Maintains work pace of the Door Builders
  • Ensure adherence with daily Production Building Schedule
  • Assembly of interior doors by assembling Door Skins, Stile, Rail, Lock Block, and Core.
  • Ensure all parts are in correct positions of door
  • Conduct visual check of all parts for defects
  • Maintain a work pace of 30 assembled doors per 8:30 minutes
  • Review part numbers on the Traveler Ticket
  • Inspect all parts for defects
  • Remove any parts found with defects and record scrap on tracking document
  • Place Stile, Rails, Lock Block & Core on parts cart in correct positions and quantities
