About The Position

The Production Machine Operator III will aid in manufacturing goods in an assembly line. Production Machine Operator will complete a variety of maintenance, development and operations tasks that promote the efficient production of a manufacturing plant. Ensures machinery is operating at optimal standards and resolves issues efficiently and in a timely manner. The Production Operator III ensures that the production lines are operating at optimal capacity. Ensures that all Production Operators I-II are performing their assigned tasks and that a quality product is being produced. This is a hands on role and will be able to step in and perform any operator role as needed. This role acts as a liaison between the Production Team Lead, Managers and the production line and communicates important details and changes in a timely and professional manner.

Requirements

  • 3+ yrs in warehouse/manufacturing environment
  • 2+ yrs production and/or machine operator experience a plus in operating filling, capping, labeling, coding, bundling, case packing, print-and-apply, conveyors, pumps, transfer systems, or similar manufacturing equipment.
  • Read, write and communicate in English
  • Mechanically savvy
  • Efficient computer/software user
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Observe machine operation to detect product defects or machine malfunctions, adjusting machines as necessary.
  • Set up and operate machines
  • Inspect products for defects, and determine accuracy of machine operation, using rules, templates, or other measuring instruments.
  • Set machine stops or guides to specified lengths as indicated by scales, rules, or templates.
  • Perform minor machine maintenance, such as oiling or cleaning machines, dies, or adding coolant to machine reservoirs.
  • Select, install, and adjust alignment of drills, cutters, dies, guides, and holding devices, using templates, measuring instruments, and hand tools.
  • Move controls or mount gears, cams, or templates in machines to set feed rates and cutting speeds, depths, and angles.
  • Position, adjust, and secure stock material or products against stops, on arbors, or in chucks, fixtures, or automatic feeding mechanisms, manually.
  • Performs quality checks on machinery utilizing quality verification procedures
  • Maintains tools
  • Performs daily, weekly and monthly preventative maintenance on machinery
  • Assists Production Team leads and Supervisors in ensuring a positive work environment
  • Ensures that company policies and procedures are communicated and followed
  • Communicates assignments and responsibilities to teammates
  • Takes a hands on approach and works on the production line to ensure a quality product is produced
  • Is able to perform Production Operator I, II duties
  • Reports to Production Team Lead, Supervisor and/or Manager any employee relations issues immediately
  • Observes processes for safety and ensures all are adhering to safety procedures
  • Train and assist Production employees as assigned.
