About The Position

The Production Operator II performs processes related to manufacturing technical ceramics and/or metals according to work order specifications. The role works within a team to meet departmental goals and maintains a clean work area. The operator uses production machines and equipment, inspects products for quality, moves products between processes, and trains incoming operators.

Requirements

• A minimum of six months of manufacturing experience.
• Ability to understand and act on verbal and/or written instructions.
• Ability to read and interpret standard and metric measurements.
• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Knowledge of handheld measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and drop gauges.
• Ability to assess product quality deficiencies, determine disposition, and report them to the appropriate person.
• Attention to detail and excellent listening skills.
• Ability to work with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not necessary.

Responsibilities

• Operate multiple basic production machines and/or a single complex technical production equipment to manufacture parts according to work order instructions; make machine adjustments and contact the appropriate person when needed.
• Inspect parts against quality and customer specifications and take appropriate action when parts do not meet standards.
• Transfer parts to the next process using computer software.
• Load, unload, and stack product; transport product using a hand truck, forklift, crane, or hoist.
• Clean the work area, machines, tools, and equipment.
• Train incoming operators on processes and procedures.
• Wear required personal protective equipment in areas where it is mandatory.
