About The Position

Operates and tends machines that perform packaging functions, including assembly and downstream packaging automation equipment. Responsibilities include starting machines, observing operations, detecting malfunctions, clearing alarms, staging materials, ensuring product quality, and performing visual and basic dimensional inspections. The role requires maintaining a clean and safe work environment and adhering to health, safety, and GMP guidelines.

Requirements

  • High School or Vo-Tech School graduate
  • Ability to use measuring devices such as Comparator, Dial indicator, Go/No Go gauges.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with demonstrated ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and demands.
  • Strong technical aptitude, as well as analytical and problem-solving skills to trouble shoot and solve problems.
  • Sound judgment - ability to work efficiently with many competing demands.
  • Ability to communicate their job-related functions with other employees, customers and auditors as needed.
  • Effectively communicate with supervisor.
  • The ability to read, write, and comprehend information provided.
  • Stand for most of the work shift.
  • Use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, crouch, bend, twist, and only occasionally sit.
  • Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Heavier amounts can be moved with assistance of equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-3 years prior experience as a production operator.
  • Additional education in related vo-tech, operations or manufacturing field.
  • Prior experience in ISO 9001 and/or ISO13485 manufacturing environment.
  • Self-motivated, conscientious, with a results-oriented mindset.
  • Good organizational and communication skills to work independently and also in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of and/or previous experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus!

Responsibilities

  • Operates and tends machines that perform packaging functions, both assembly and downstream packaging automation equipment.
  • Starts machines and observes operation to detect malfunctions.
  • Stops machines and reports malfunction to process technician or supervisor.
  • Clears alarms, runner jams, sensors, and leak detectors.
  • Stages packaging material or WIP components.
  • Ensures quality of finished product, stamps and packs on assembly and downstream packaging automation equipment.
  • Performs visual and basic dimensional inspections to determine overall acceptability and quality of ware.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
  • Adheres to and communicates plant Health, Safety, and Quality guidelines and GMP.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Adheres to safety policies.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work area and reports any unsafe conditions to supervisor.
  • Wears company-issued personal protective equipment (PPE) such as uniforms, gloves, and hairnets.
  • Logs in to DELMIAWorks (formerly IQMS) and enters production data and completes production forms (batch record).
  • Reads, understands, and follows documents such as safety rules, operating & maintenance instructions, and procedures.
  • Applies basic math skills: add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
  • Carries out instructions provided in written, oral, or visual/diagram form.
  • Uses measuring devices such as Comparator, Dial indicator, Go/No Go gauges.

  • Troubleshoots and solves problems.
