Production Operator I
About The Position
Control or operate machinery or equipment to assist with manufacturing, packaging, and other steps along a production line. May be expected to handle heavy machinery. The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to the safe and effective operation and minor adjustments of all packaging equipment, proper handling, packaging, labeling, coding and marking of product, accurate and timely sampling of materials and communication to the lab, accurate and timely documentation of your production day, maintaining a safe, healthy and clean work environment, reporting all accidents or near misses to Lead/Supervisor, willingness to support other production lines and assist Spray Operators, regular on-time attendance, proper and timely communication of equipment performance to Operators/Leads, effective evaluation of the quality of all packaging raw materials consumed in the operation, and reporting any defects encountered to Lead/Supervisor. All product change overs are completed in an efficient and timely manner. This position operates in a production/plant environment 95% of the time. Incumbent must be willing to work in hot and/or cold environments. Incumbent must also be willing to work in a dusty environment and be willing/able to wear half or full-face respirators. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to work independently and with a group in accordance with the company safety & sanitation standards.
- Basic computer skills: Access, Outlook and SharePoint.
- Ability to lift up to 55 lbs.
- Ability to work on your feet the majority of the day.
- Moderate to heavy stair climbing (including vertical ladders)
