The Production Operator I is responsible for operating and performing changeovers on production lines and equipment within required timelines, consistently meeting safety, quality, and efficiency goals. This role involves following work instructions, standards, and SOPs for equipment setup and changeover, as well as identifying and resolving issues during these processes. The operator prepares and cleans the work area at the beginning and end of shifts or production runs, and sanitizes food contact surfaces between product changes. They ensure the availability of required materials and supplies, operating equipment including troubleshooting and making adjustments. The position requires conducting quality checks, inspecting ingredients and finished products, and accurately completing required paperwork. The operator also performs scheduled maintenance, diagnoses and performs minor machine maintenance, and collaborates with the maintenance team for complex mechanical issues. Additionally, they submit daily reports, identify and submit suggestions for improvement, and actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives. Compliance with safety requirements, GMP, and SOPs/WI's is mandatory. Specific duties vary between the Packaging and Processing areas, including quality checks, assisting coworkers, examining product, weighing and mixing ingredients, operating various processing equipment, and documenting all production information accurately.
