About The Position
Knape & Vogt is seeking a Production Operator I to join their manufacturing team in Grand Rapids. This role involves hand assembly of slide systems and parts, operating machinery, and performing quality checks. The company has been based in Grand Rapids for over 125 years and is a global leader in functional hardware, office and healthcare ergonomics, and storage-related components.
Requirements
- No previous manufacturing experience is required
- Basic reading, writing, computer and math skills
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand basic English
- Ability to efficiently work in a high fast paced environment
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. while standing for long periods of time
- High School Diploma or GED required
Responsibilities
- Hand assemble slide systems and parts
- Load, unload and hand parts into the machine
- Conduct changeovers and setups
- Perform all quality functions and checks
- Follow all safety procedures and quality functions
- Perform all shop order functions, packing instructions and labeling requirements
- Inspect parts and machinery for errors
