About The Position

Solid Power is seeking a 1st Shift Production Operator to join their team focused on revolutionizing the battery industry with all-solid-state rechargeable batteries. This role operates within a dynamic, fast-paced, and collaborative environment. The Production Operator will collaborate with production operators, technicians, and engineers to set up, operate, and manage equipment for electrode fabrication and battery cell assembly.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years’ experience in a lab or manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience working with hazardous materials, dry powder processes, and wet chemical/slurry and solvent-based operations.
  • Rapid learner with attention to detail who thrives in a fast-paced start-up environment.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Availability to work 1st shift 5:30 am to 4:00 pm Tuesday – Friday.

Nice To Haves

  • Dry-room/Clean-room experience is a plus.
  • Preference for experience operating and maintaining semi-automated machinery.
  • Experience using PLC controlled robotics a plus.
  • Experience with Microsoft software (Excel, Teams, Outlook etc.) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate automated and semi-automated machinery.
  • Follow detailed instructions, standard operating procedures, and work instructions.
  • Setup, operate, and maintain specialized production equipment including calenders, stamping dies, ultrasonic welders, and other industry-specific automated equipment.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and work safely with hazardous materials.
  • Maintain workspace cleanliness in highly trafficked workspaces.
  • Follow appropriate 5S practices.
  • Utilize a methodical approach to problem-solving, both independently and as a team, to recognize and implement solutions during production runs and through the manufacturing process.
  • Ensure product quality specifications are appropriately evaluated and maintained throughout production.
  • Complete and verify production documentation is filled out completely and accurately.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area by following 5S standards.
  • Participate in 5S activities, audits, and continuous improvement efforts to maintain workplace organization and efficiency.
