About The Position

USG is seeking a Production Operator with forklift experience to join their team. This role is responsible for adhering to safety and housekeeping requirements in a plant warehouse setting. The operator will use a forklift for loading and unloading materials, interpret customer orders for accurate shipments, record shipping data, and perform basic maintenance on equipment. The position also requires active participation in safety and continuous improvement initiatives, and adaptability to scheduling requirements including shiftwork and overtime.

Requirements

Able to safely operate a forklift in a manufacturing setting.
Ability to inspect and troubleshoot the forklift to detect issues and maximize operational availability.
Ability to interpret verbal instructions and written documents such as customer orders.
Ability to apply basic computer skills required for data entry and reporting.
Proficiency at accurately recording shipping data.
Possess basic maintenance skills needed to help service equipment.
Effective teamwork and communication skills needed with all co-workers.
Maintain regular and predictable attendance.

Responsibilities

Adhere to all safety/housekeeping requirements within a plant warehouse setting.
Use of forklift in the timely loading or unloading of finished product and raw materials to/from trucks/railcars, and from the production line.
Interpret customer orders so as to pull, stage, load, and check materials in a manner that ensures accurate and timely shipment.
Recording of shipping data and other results in the manner required.
Troubleshoot and apply basic maintenance skills to help service equipment.
Take an active role in all plant safety and continuous improvement initiatives as required by supervision.
Adaptable to scheduling requirements including shiftwork, assignment of overtime, working weekends, etc. where applicable.
