About The Position

As a Production Operator you will be a crucial part of our operations, ensuring that a quality product is available to our customers when they need them. Your work will directly affect people's lives!

Requirements

  • Willing to work overtime as needed.
  • 95% of time standing with some walking.
  • Frequent lifting up to 50LBS.

Responsibilities

  • Be able to read and interpret part and tool drawings with the ability to properly understand these drawings as they apply to parts or tooling machined
  • Use micrometers (inside, outside and depth), calipers, dial indicators, scales, and various gauges for verification of dimensional quality work produced.
  • Inspect Units and/or Tooling after machining to ensure compliance with all quality requirements.
  • Have a good understanding of five axis machine motion, with the ability to interpret the axial tool movement according to machine code.
  • Check for proper machine alignment (spindle, fixture, tram holes etc.) and perform proofing/first article runs.
  • Make accurate setups making sure Tombstones, fixtures, and/or table are clean and free of burrs etc., checking cutting tools for proper gage length and diameter, making sure tools are not dull, chipped or worn.
  • Obtain a good working knowledge of the machine code (G codes, M codes, etc.) and the ability to use MDI to manipulate the machine tool during set-up and other manual machining operations.
  • Obtain the Skills and abilities to proof programs – either Part or Tooling without constant observation/supervision from CNC Programmer or Supervisor with the ability, concern and responsibility for protection of the equipment and the ability to give viable feedback concerning programming issues etc.
  • Obtain the working knowledge of the machine tool to successfully and efficiently be able to operate the equipment either automatically or manually as needed to either produce quality parts (maintaining required production levels), Tooling or in assistance to CNC Programmers and/or Maintenance.
  • Have basic computer skills to include locating needed files (programs and setup sheets) and to transfer between network server and machine tool.
  • Read, interpret and follow Setup Sheets, Tooling Work Instruction Sheets, and Dimensional aids as given by CNC Programmer, Process Engineer, or Supervisor.
