About The Position

This role is responsible for adhering to all safety and housekeeping requirements within a plant warehouse setting. The Production Operator will be responsible for the safe use of a forklift for loading and unloading finished product and raw materials. This includes interpreting customer orders to ensure accurate and timely shipments, recording shipping data, and troubleshooting equipment with basic maintenance skills. The operator is expected to take an active role in plant safety and continuous improvement initiatives and be adaptable to scheduling requirements, including shiftwork, overtime, and working weekends.

Requirements

Able to safely operate a forklift in a manufacturing/warehouse setting.
Ability to inspect and troubleshoot the forklift to detect issues and maximize operational availability.
Ability to interpret verbal instructions and written documents such as customer orders.
Ability to apply basic computer skills required for data entry and reporting.
Proficiency at accurately recording shipping data.
Possess basic maintenance skills needed to help service equipment.
Effective teamwork and communication skills needed with all co-workers.
Maintain regular and predictable attendance.

Responsibilities

Adhere to all safety/housekeeping requirements within a plant warehouse setting.
Responsible for safe use of forklift in the timely loading or unloading of finished product and raw materials to/from trucks, and from the production line.
Interpret customer orders so as to pull, stage, load, and check materials in a manner that ensures accurate and timely shipment.
Recording of shipping data and other results in the manner required.
Troubleshoot and apply basic maintenance skills to help service equipment.
Take an active role in all plant safety and continuous improvement initiatives as required by supervision.
Adaptable to scheduling requirements including shiftwork, assignment of overtime, working weekends, etc. where applicable.
