About The Position

Airgas is hiring for a Production Operator - Cylinder Filler in El Paso, TX. This role involves making and/or repackaging and pumping compressed and liquefied gases into cylinders. You will be filling high-pressure cylinders (Industrial, Medical, and Mixes) following the compression temperature/pressure method. The position requires operating and safely maintaining equipment for pumping or repackaging gases into cylinders, performing pre-fill and post-fill inspections, and verifying safety through tests before cylinders are released. You will also attend to the condition of cylinders, ensuring those requiring maintenance or repair are set aside. Regular inspection and maintenance of pumping apparatus and associated pressure gauges and monitoring devices are necessary. Cylinders must be filled to the target pressure or weight, and accurate filling records must be maintained according to local, state, and federal regulations. Additionally, you will assist with loading and unloading trucks/trailers, support inventory and general housekeeping, and provide customer support when necessary.

Requirements

Valid employment authorization in the U.S. and must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future.
Ability to perform very heavy work - routinely lifts 25 - 75 lbs., and occasionally lifts 76 to greater than 100 lbs. with the aid of a lifting device.
Ability to read and comprehend all written and computer generated documentation.
The ability to operate forklift and become forklift certified.

Responsibilities

Assist with loading and unloading trucks and/or trailers.
Support the team with inventory and general housekeeping.
Provide support to customers when necessary.
Tests gas for purity using testing equipment.
Inspects or tests empty cylinders.
