About The Position

Shuttlewagon, a Client Company, is looking for a skilled production professional to support the manufacturing of highly engineered, custom-built mobile material handling machinery for rail-related markets. The role works collaboratively with cross-functional teams utilizing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, welding, electrical wiring, and overhead crane assembly techniques.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Ability to operate a computer to read and enter production data.
  • Ability to operate hand tools and read measuring devices.
  • Ability to read and interpret 3D prints and schematics to complete standard work assignments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and management.
  • Ability to hold oneself accountable for results.
  • Safety-minded approach to all job responsibilities.
  • Ability to think critically and troubleshoot problems.
  • Strong desire to succeed and contribute to team goals.

Nice To Haves

  • 3–5+ years of experience in a custom-build shop environment preferred.
  • 2+ years of MIG welding experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Welding fabricated parts, components, and assemblies.
  • Testing and calibrating parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications.
  • Utilizing hand and power tools to assemble units according to engineering requirements.
  • Identifying units that fail tests or tolerance requirements and performing repairs as necessary.
  • Providing guidance and support to less experienced team members when required.
  • Following and complying with all safety and work rules and regulations.
  • Maintaining departmental housekeeping standards.
  • Fabricating small components as required.
  • Completing production and quality assurance documentation.
  • Participating actively in team meetings and group discussions.
  • Interfacing with engineering teams to accurately communicate technical information.
  • Participating in continuous improvement activities and events.
  • Adhering to Quality Management System requirements.
  • Maintaining and supporting 5S activities.
  • Reading and following standard work instructions, BOMs, blueprints, routings, specifications, and engineering diagrams.
  • Obtaining and maintaining required tools and equipment.
  • Handling materials, tools, and equipment manually or with jib cranes while performing hitching activities as required.
  • Maintaining high quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Consistently achieving productivity levels established by management.
  • Preparing machinery and equipment for shipment.
