About The Position

The production mixer is responsible for the addition and blending of raw material based on the daily production schedule. This role ensures the production of a quality product that meets all safety, SQF, and customer regulations. The mixer will also coach, counsel, train, and develop associate's skills, establish efficient production processes, and ensure all products follow QA and SQF procedures. They will regularly train associates in methods of improving production processes and review the production schedule with line associates prior to shift start, keeping them informed of any changes. The mixer will also complete shift huddles/communication with other department supervisors and associates, and assure that all formulas, labels, tools, and equipment are ready prior to production start. Regular inspection of production lines to assure Good Manufacturing Practices are followed and ensuring production areas are kept clean of waste, debris, and liquids to avoid safety hazards are key responsibilities. The role is responsible for making quality products that meet all Food Safety, SQF, QA, and customer requirements. At the end of the shift, the mixer ensures all documentation pertinent to production, materials, and counts are accurate, completing all required information tracking and data collection. Effective communication between the Manager and shift supervisors is maintained, identifying significant issues related to quality, safety, downtime, production problems, or any other unexpected issues. Other duties as assigned by Manager.

Requirements

  • Must possess good reading, writing and math skills.
  • Must always be safety conscious.
  • Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Must be self-directed and able to work without close supervision
  • Willing and able to work overtime as needed
  • Hardworking, dependable, and safety conscious
  • Bilingual - English/Spanish
  • Willingness to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and train employees
  • Knowledgeable of SQF and OSHA regulations

  • Certified forklift driver preferred

Responsibilities

  • Producing a quality product that meets all the Safety, SQF and Customer regulations
