About The Position

This is an entry-level mechanical position responsible for maintaining production equipment in good running condition. The role requires interfacing with the Operations and Engineering Departments to ensure efficiency. The Production Mechanic I will perform setup, repair, preventative maintenance, and on-line adjustments to production equipment. This position also involves diagnosing and repairing machine faults to minimize downtime and ensuring compliance with GMP regulations.

Requirements

High School or equivalency diploma required.
Minimum of one year of relevant experience.
Basic mathematical abilities.
Basic mechanical ability.
Acceptable attendance record.

Responsibilities

Maintain assigned machinery in good running condition, correctly located, and properly adjusted for scheduled production.
Diagnose problems or faults of assigned machines and make minor repairs to maintain production and minimize downtime.
Obtain assistance when needed for repairs or complex issues.
Possess a general knowledge of production equipment, maintenance requirements, set up procedures, and applications.
Adhere to GMP regulations concerning housekeeping, recordkeeping, cleaning, and sanitation of production equipment.
Follow all safety regulations, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment and following lockout procedures.
Learn and improve skills for advancement.
Work as an assistant or under the direction of higher-classification mechanics and the Lead Mechanic.
Document machine operation through downtime and/or preventative maintenance sheets.
Work Saturdays and overtime as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
