About The Position

We're looking for a Production/Manufacturing Technician I to join our 2nd shift production team. This entry-level role is a great starting point for someone building hands-on manufacturing skills, providing support in the fabrication, assembly, testing, inventory, and shipment of hardware systems built by OKSI. You'll work closely with experienced technicians and engineers, learning our build processes while contributing to a fast-paced, quality-driven production floor.

Requirements

  • Basic mechanical or electronic assembly skills (academic, hobbyist, or internship experience acceptable)
  • Ability to follow step-by-step work instructions accurately
  • Familiarity with hand tools and basic measurement devices
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn new technical skills
  • Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively
  • Must have, or be eligible to obtain, a U.S. Department of Defense Secret security clearance.
  • Subject to government security investigations and must be able to access classified information.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful permanent resident, Refugee, or Asylee, or be eligible to obtain required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to mechanical drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), or technical documentation
  • Familiarity with basic inventory tracking tools or ERP systems
  • Previous internship, trade school training, or part-time work in manufacturing or assembly is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with tracking and organizing mechanical, electrical, and optical components, and help maintain stock levels and prepare materials for assembly
  • Follow clear, detailed instructions to assemble simple subassemblies and assist with larger builds under guidance from senior technicians
  • Perform visual inspections and basic functional tests as instructed, documenting results for review
  • Help package and label parts and products for delivery, following established handling and safety guidelines
  • Work alongside experienced technicians and engineers to learn build processes and support production needs
  • Provide hands-on help with basic prototype assembly and workspace organization during development builds
  • Maintain simple inventory logs and assembly checklists to support production records
  • Follow all safety, security, and ESD protocols in the production environment
