About The Position

GDIT is seeking a Production Manager to serve as the primary interface with our customer in managing production and quality output and consistency in the performance of extraction processing services. This role involves overseeing operations at designated Government facilities to retrieve, pack, track, and ship source materials for processing. The Production Manager will be responsible for managing subcontractors, monitoring production metrics, identifying areas for improvement, and resolving issues to ensure operational efficiency and quality standards are met. This position requires close collaboration with various stakeholders, including the customer, subcontractors, and internal GDIT management, to ensure successful program execution and client satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent and 7+ years of experience overseeing custodial control of vendor / government records
  • 7+ years of progressive experience with managing quality metrics to support program compliance where service level agreements or service level requirements exist
  • 7+ years of experience identifying risks and mitigation, and performing root cause analysis to diagnose issues affecting production goals, capacity, and quality
  • 7+ years working in either an automated or factory-floor environment with direct hands-on experience reviewing production goals and quality

Responsibilities

  • Serving as the primary customer interface for Veterans Affairs and subcontractor personnel at this facility / location where extraction and digitization processing is taking place
  • Resolving local issues affecting operations and overall extraction and digitization processing
  • Identifying and understanding the specific conversion rules affecting each document type being digitally converted for VA’s use
  • Ensuring personnel are thoroughly training on associated processes and procedures including proper use of the Source Material Tracking System (SMTS)
  • Escalating issues that cannot be resolved locally including security, production issues, and external factors
  • Monitoring and reporting of daily production metrics and quality measurement, i.e., situation reports
  • Generating trend analysis of production metrics and quality measurements for weekly review
  • Interfacing with the subcontractor daily to provide direction and to capture production operations issues
  • Identifying and escalating any issues negatively affecting the extraction and digitization processing of government personnel records in terms of quantity or quality
  • Performing root cause analysis of issues affecting extraction and digitization processing and preparing after action reports to document steps for remediation and process improvement
  • Open and document internal service tickets that affect extraction and digitization processing operations
  • Establishing standard operating procedures for on-site extraction and digitization processing support and apply updates as required
  • Reviewing the physical production facility daily - reviewing custodial controls of government records and physical plant operations, workstations conditions and overall tidiness of plant operations
  • Total control of waste material in the facility under GDIT control
  • Manages the day-to-day operations of tasks in assigned program areas including technical work, staff supervision, financial and business development activities
  • Supervises the work of assigned business unit staff members
  • Aligns teams, sets goals, executes initiatives, and improves processes for the specific business units
  • Analyzes and provides guidance on the current processes and workflows to help the organization run efficiently and effectively
  • Contribute to the creation of business strategies to achieve business targets
  • Keeps current with business and economic trends to forecast how the business will need to adapt and change over time
