About The Position

Agropur is looking for a Production Manager to join its Woodstock team. Reporting to the Plant Director, the Production Manager is responsible for planning and managing all aspects of plant operations while ensuring effective communication across all involved departments. The role oversees a safe work environment with a strong focus on manufacturing high-quality cheese products for Canadian customers. The Production Manager drives operational efficiency, performance, and continuous improvement while fostering a positive and respectful workplace culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in food science, management of operations or other training deemed relevant
  • 7 to 10 years of management experience in the food industry.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a managerial position.
  • Extensive knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, and occupational health and safety standards.
  • Mastery of Lean manufacturing principles
  • Flexibility to adapt to a 24/7 operation schedule.

Nice To Haves

  • SAP experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily production and packaging operations with a focus on efficiency, productivity, and production volumes.
  • Ensure key performance indicators (SQCDME) targets are consistently achieved.
  • Drive a strong First Pass Right culture across operations.
  • Foster and maintain a positive work environment where all employees are treated with respect and professionalism.
  • Maintain health, safety, and environmental standards while supporting a strong safety culture.
  • Lead and participate in meetings and projects aimed at optimizing production and packaging processes.
  • Work closely with the Quality department to ensure compliance with SQF, CFIA regulations, HACCP standards, sanitation, and internal company specifications.
  • Promote and reinforce a strong Quality culture within the plant.
  • Drive cost-savings initiatives through sustainable LEAN principles and other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Manage the performance, development, and engagement of production and packaging teams through the supervisory leadership structure.
  • Provide guidance to production and packaging supervisors on staffing levels, performance management, hiring, terminations, and employee disciplinary matters.
  • Drive manufacturing cost reductions through improved line efficiency, waste reduction, and increased labour productivity.
  • Act as backup to the Plant Manager as required.
  • Lead by example and perform other related duties as assigned.
