About The Position

The Production Manager is responsible for leading a multi-shift manufacturing operation to achieve world-class performance in safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and employee engagement. This leader develops frontline leaders, drives continuous improvement through the Danaher Business System (DBS), and builds a culture of accountability, problem solving, and operational excellence. Working closely with cross-functional partners, the Production Manager plays a critical role in delivering business results while strengthening organizational capability and preparing the operation for future growth. This position reports to the Operations Director and is located in Putnam, CT and will be on-site.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in a technical, engineering, business, or related field preferred
  • Demonstrated progressive leadership experience within manufacturing or operations environments
  • Leadership and development of frontline leaders, including supervisors, team leads, or equivalent manufacturing roles
  • Application of EHS management systems and 5S practices to drive a safe and compliant manufacturing operation
  • Utilization of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, continuous improvement, or equivalent operational excellence methodologies
  • Management of production staffing, labor utilization, overtime, and operational resources to support business objectives.
  • Development of performance metrics, datasets, and visual management systems to drive root cause analysis and sustainable countermeasures

Responsibilities

  • Lead the safe operation of a multi-shift manufacturing organization through application of EHS management systems, risk reduction, and continuous improvement practices.
  • Ensure product quality and process compliance through adherence to quality systems, standardized work, and effective problem-solving methodologies.
  • Deliver customer requirements by achieving production schedules, shipment commitments, and operational performance objectives.
  • Optimize inventory, labor utilization, capacity, and operational resources to support business objectives and changing customer demand.
  • Drive productivity, cost, and operational performance improvements through Lean Manufacturing, DBS, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop frontline leaders and build organizational capability through coaching, performance management, succession planning, and talent development.
  • Lead data-driven problem solving through visual management, root cause analysis, Kaizen activities, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver sustainable operational improvements.
